“The SGSI staff and library resources provided the information I needed to find and happily reunite with my Slovenian family 100 years after my grandmother emigrated. Without their help what could have taken me months or even years, took only a few weeks.”
"My family and I had our first journey to Slovenia through the efforts of SGSI and the 2013 conference and tour. We fell in love with the beauty of the country, found our family village, and met several cousins. A wonderful cousin that we met was able to help me trace our family tree back to the early 1700's, something I could not have done from the US."
"When I finally became intrigued with my Slovenian roots, I had few living relatives remaining that I could turn to and ask questions. I discovered SGSI online by accident and became convinced that I needed to join. The Forum Posting, the Linden Tree Newsletter, and all the Genealogy Resources available online became invaluable connectors to my heritage."
On June 20, 2018, the Slovenian Genealogy Society International, Inc. officially went live with our new website. Our Board members Chris Panchur and Jeff Dormish led the website redesign project. Our url is still sloveniangenealogy.org, but you will also be able to find us at sgsii.com. We hope you find the new platform easier to navigate.
One of the most exciting new features is the reconstructed Graves Database with new searching capabilities that are much more intuitive.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
The first time you access the new website you will need to enter your email and create a new password. If you already have a membership, click the Existing Member button and submit your information. Our website will continue to evolve and we plan to add new research resources as they become available. Every effort was made to have a smooth migration of our research materials to our new site but if you come across any problems, please drop us a line at info@sgsii.com.
